MON — 聞・門 Hearing and Gate

MON* is a quarterly publication of the Higashi Honganji by our mother temple in Kyoto, affectionately known as Honzan, that features article on a variety of topics related to general Buddhism, Shin Buddhism through Shinran’s teachings, and the Higashi Honganji. The articles are written by a variety of authors, including Buddhist ministers, scholars, and laypeople. Two kanji are read as “mon”: “聞,” which means "hearing," and “門”, which means “gate”. We hope that this publication can serve as a gate through which you can hear the words of wisdom in the world of Buddhism.
